Ways We Can Support You

Fixed-fee packages, staged tribunal pricing, and flexible hourly support — so you always know what to expect before we start.

We understand that seeking paid support is a big decision. Many parents come to us after months — or years — of feeling unheard by their local authority. You shouldn't have to fight alone to get your child the right provision.

Fixed-Fee Support Packages

Every package is designed to leave you in a stronger position than when you started — with professional-quality work product you can act on immediately, and a clear understanding of what comes next. No open-ended billing, no surprises.

Tribunal Preparation & Case Support

For families who need us beyond the Kickstart stage. Tribunal cases can range from 15 to over 100 hours — our capped pricing means you'll never pay more than the agreed maximum, and if your case settles early, billing stops.

Appeal Type Typical Hours Capped Fee What This Covers
Refusal to Assess (SEND35A) ~20 hours £2,750 Full case management from lodging to hearing. Usually paper-based with focused evidence.
Refusal to Issue an EHCP ~30 hours £3,950 Case management, evidence scheduling, working document, and LA correspondence to hearing.
Contents Appeal — B & F ~40 hours £5,550 Needs and provision disputes. Full directions compliance, working document, and submissions.
Contents & Placement — B, F & I ~40+ hours £5,550 As above, plus school suitability evidence and placement-specific submissions.
Placement Only — Section I Variable £3,950 Focused on school suitability. Risk of scope expansion where provision is also disputed.
Cease to Maintain ~50 hours £6,250 Evidence of ongoing need is central. Often involves transition planning disputes.
Disability Discrimination Claim ~50 hours £6,450 Must be brought within 6 months of the discrimination. Clear scope boundaries advised.
EOTAS Package Building (tribunal) Variable £6,450 Specialist rate applies. Includes timetable, costing, and package-building work.
Extended Appeal Element (health/social care) +5-10 hours +£575 Add-on to any appeal. Non-binding recommendations on health and social care provision.

All capped fees exclude hearing attendance, which is priced separately below. Caps cover case management, directions compliance, evidence scheduling, working document iterations, submissions, and all LA/tribunal correspondence. If your case settles before the cap is reached, billing stops.

Hearing Attendance & Representation

Hearing attendance is priced separately so you only pay for hearings that go ahead. Where you name us as your representative, the tribunal will communicate with us and we can represent you at the hearing. Hearings may be held remotely or in person.

£800 Half day (up to 4 hours)
£1,250 Full day (up to 7 hours)
£55/hr Travel time (beyond 30 mins each way)

A non-refundable booking deposit is required when your hearing date is confirmed.

How hourly billing works

Most work is billed in 15-minute increments with a minimum of 1 hour on new matters. Where preparation is required for meeting attendance (reviewing documents, drafting agendas, etc.), prep time is charged at the standard rate of £80/hour unless included within a fixed-fee package. Travel time and mileage are charged separately for locations outside the York local area.

Frequently Asked Questions

We know choosing paid SEND support is a big step. Here are the questions families ask us most often.

No. Our fixed-fee packages are one-off pieces of work with a clear start and finish. For tribunal cases, our staged pricing means you can pause or stop at the end of any stage — you're never locked into the full case if your situation changes or your case settles early.
Yes. Fixed-fee packages are split 50/50 (half on booking, half on delivery). For packages over £1,000, we can spread the cost across three monthly instalments. Interest-free payment plans are available on request — just ask when you book.
We are not solicitors. We provide specialist SEND advocacy, case support, and tribunal preparation. Where agreed, we can act as your named representative at the SEND Tribunal — meaning the tribunal communicates with us and we can represent you at the hearing. We are not authorised to represent clients in the High Court. For judicial review proceedings, we will support with preparation and signpost you to a solicitor or barrister.
We'll always tell you before doing any work beyond the agreed scope. If your case needs more time, we'll discuss your options — whether that's moving to a capped tribunal package, booking additional hourly support, or adjusting the plan. You'll never receive a surprise invoice.
Yes. We offer both virtual and in-person meeting attendance. There's no travel charge within the York local area. For locations further afield, we charge travel time at £55/hour (beyond 30 minutes each way) and mileage at 45p per mile. We'll always agree travel costs with you before the meeting.
We're based in York, but most of our work is delivered remotely and we support families across the country. SEND law is national, so your location doesn't limit the support we can provide. For in-person meetings outside the local area, travel costs apply.
Many of the families we work with resolve their issues without ever reaching a hearing. Our EHCP Health Check, annual review support, and EHCNA packages are all designed to strengthen your position before things escalate. If a tribunal does become necessary, you'll already have a strong foundation to build on.
For most packages, we can begin within a few working days of receiving your deposit and documents. If you're working to a deadline (for example, a tribunal registration deadline or an annual review date), let us know when you book and we'll do our best to prioritise your case.
Yes. All prices shown on this page are inclusive of VAT. The price you see is the price you pay.
